Seven excavator operator trainees from Intake XIX are now entering their third week of field practice. Since the beginning of the training, they have been equipped with fundamental knowledge about excavator mechanics, control systems, and safe and efficient operating techniques.
The intensive field practice has provided valuable experience for the participants. Starting from familiarizing themselves with various types of excavators and their equipment, they were then taught how to perform pre-operation inspections, as well as basic techniques such as digging, loading, and leveling soil.

Currently, the participants are focusing on practicing material digging and land leveling. Both activities require precision and high skill. The participants must be able to control the excavation depth, slope angles, and smoothness of the soil surface.
During practice, workplace safety is always emphasized. Participants are required to wear complete personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work procedures. In addition, they are taught about potential hazards when operating excavators, such as being struck by materials, getting caught, or slipping.

With intensive training and support from the instructors, these excavator operator trainees are expected to become competent operators ready to work on various construction projects. Their skills will be highly needed in Indonesia’s infrastructure development.
