After spending some time involved in the process of working on or developing training facilities and infrastructure, as well as attending theory classes, today (Saturday, June 4, 2022), STC training students are taking their final exam. The activities they participated in, both the classroom theory sessions and the practical fieldwork at the STC building construction site behind the Government Housing Complex and the additional facility construction, provided an opportunity to sharpen their skills in construction. On this occasion, the students also applied occupational health and safety (K3) practices. All fieldwork was based on the lessons provided by the construction instructors during classes held every Friday and Saturday, according to the schedule set by the STC team.

Today is the moment for them to express their understanding—what they have learned in the classroom and applied in the field—through their final exam.

“Today is the final exam for the students who have been undergoing training. Therefore, no one is allowed to sit close to each other; there must be distance to prevent sharing answers with others. This is the final test. We have two types of exam questions: one on Safety K3 and the other on Construction. The team will first distribute the Safety K3 exam questions, followed by the Construction questions, so that you won’t get confused while answering,” emphasized Mrs. Berliana Mirino from the STC team as she handed out the exam papers.

“Today’s exam went smoothly for me. The questions were based on what we had learned in class — the material provided by our instructor on Safety K3 — and what we applied in the field. That’s exactly what came out in the exam. For example, when working on a building construction project at a height, what safety equipment must we use? I answered: safety shoes, helmet, vest, goggles, and most importantly, a safety harness.” body harness. And that’s absolutely right — we must use safety gear for our own protection, just like we’ve been doing in the field all this time. That’s what we answered in today’s exam. The exam questions didn’t go beyond the material and practical work that had already been taught and carried out in the field,” said Apelau Alom, one of the training students who took part in the final exam.

The exam questions covered two main areas: Safety K3 and construction. This required students to choose which certificate they aimed to obtain — either in Safety K3 or in Construction. This decision reflects each student's individual goals and needs in participating in the training program at STC.

The final examination was held to assess the trainees' knowledge and understanding of the materials they had received, both from classroom theory and field practice. This final test serves as a key indicator in determining whether the students have successfully completed the training program or not.
