Six students from Intan Jaya Regency continued their studies at Somatua Training Center with new material on building houses using concrete this morning (November 22, 2023). This lesson is part of the advanced curriculum in the Construction field.
In this training, the students learned about floor plan angles, types of house sizes that require multiple columns, the comparison of weight and load on the upper parts of a building, and the strength of the foundation needed to support the building’s load to ensure the structure remains level.

“I am giving this material to you who live in mountainous areas where transportation is mainly by plane. To meet the needs for building houses, you often have to go to other areas, so to save costs and avoid wasting materials, you must first design the type of house you want and ensure accurate measurements. This way, you can determine the exact amount of materials you will need,” explained Abraham Marandof, Construction Instructor at Somatua Training Center.

“I am very happy to participate in this training. I have learned a lot about concrete construction, from the basics to the correct working techniques,” said Andreas Ugipa. He hopes that after completing this training, he can become a competent worker in the field of concrete construction.
