Somatua Training Center (STC) concluded the Intake XVI orientation class with a field practice activity involving the observation and identification of occupational health and safety (K3) in the work area on Saturday, February 24, 2024. This activity was attended by all training participants from various departments, such as mechanics, excavator operators, and general K3.

The purpose of this field practice is to provide training participants with a deeper understanding of the importance of occupational health and safety (K3) in the workplace. Participants are encouraged to observe and identify potential hazards in the area, as well as learn ways to prevent workplace accidents.

The field practice activity was guided by experienced instructors and took place in the workshop area of Somatua Training Center on February 24, 2024. The instructors explained various types of potential hazards that can be found in the work area, such as physical hazards, chemical hazards, and biological hazards. Participants were also taught methods to control these risks.

One of the training participants said that the field practice activity was very beneficial for him. “This activity helped me to better understand the importance of occupational health and safety (K3) in the workplace. I also learned about the various potential hazards that can be found in the work area and how to prevent workplace accidents."

Somatua Training Center is committed to providing quality occupational health and safety (K3) training to the young generation of Papua. With quality training, it is hoped that Papua’s youth can work safely and productively across various industrial sectors.(TimYS)
