Somatua Training Center (STC) in Timika, Central Papua, continued the orientation class for 12 students of Intake XVI. This orientation class aimed to introduce the Somatua Foundation and Somatua Training Center to the students. The class was held in classroom A at Somatua Training Center on Monday, February 26, 2024.
Each student of every intake is required to attend this orientation class. In this class, students are taught about the origin of the name and the place of Somatua Training Center. This aims to provide students with guidance as they complete their training and prepare to enter the workforce.
Besides the theory and practice related to their chosen fields, the students are also taught about the philosophy of the Somatua Foundation. This philosophy is important to understand so that students can work with integrity and a strong work ethic. The orientation class material about the Somatua Foundation philosophy is delivered directly by Rofin Daton, a staff member of the Somatua Foundation.
This orientation class provides many benefits for the students, including:
- Understanding the history and philosophy of the Somatua Foundation
- Understanding the vision and mission of Somatua Training Center
- Having a clear guideline for working
- Improving work ethic and integrity

On this occasion, Maximus Tipagau, the founder of the Somatua Foundation, also took the time to attend and meet with the students while encouraging them. “To the younger students, keep up your spirit to study. Even if you only graduated from high school, you can still continue learning to train and practice work in the chosen field here at Somatua Training Center,” said Maximus.
The orientation class is an important part of the training program at Somatua Training Center. This class helps students gain a deeper understanding of the Somatua Foundation and Somatua Training Center, enabling them to study enthusiastically in line with the Foundation’s vision and mission.(TimYS)
