Excavator operator students at Somatua Training Center (STC) have begun the component introduction class. This class is taught by experienced instructors from Somatua Training Center. Today, Monday (27/02/2024), they started practical sessions in the area behind the Pemda SP 2 Timika housing complex.

In this class, the students will learn about various important components of the excavator, such as the boom, arm, bucket, hydraulic system, engine, and control panel.

  • Engine: The heart of the excavator that generates power to drive all parts of the machine.
  • Hydraulic system: A system that uses high-pressure oil to operate the boom, arm, and bucket of the excavator.
  • Undercarriage: The lower part of the excavator that supports the entire machine and allows the excavator to move.
  • Attachment: Various tools that can be attached to the excavator to perform different tasks, such as buckets, grabbers, and rippers

The instructor explains the function and operation of each component in detail. Students are also given the opportunity to see and touch the components directly.

One of the students expressed enthusiasm about the class. He said that the class is very beneficial for increasing his knowledge about the basics of excavator equipment.

The component introduction class is one of the important classes in the excavator operator training program at STC. This class aims to provide students with basic knowledge about the various excavator components and how they work.

By learning about the various components of the excavator, students are expected to gain a comprehensive understanding of how the excavator operates and to be able to operate it safely and efficiently.(TimSTC)
