Somatua Training Center, a vocational training center (BLK) located on Jalan Cenderawasih SP 2 Mimika, Central Papua, held an outreach event on Saturday (February 24, 2024) in the auditorium of SMA Negeri 2 Mimika. This outreach was aimed at 12th-grade students who will soon be graduating from high school.
The purpose of this outreach is to introduce Somatua Training Center to the students and provide information about the available training programs. Somatua Training Center offers 14 training programs registered with the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP), ensuring that the training received is recognized anywhere when applying for jobs or needed while working in companies within the industrial sector.
Somatua Training Center also offers reduced registration fees for the sons and daughters of the seven indigenous Papuan tribes. This aims to help improve the skills and job opportunities for the indigenous Papuan community to build their own land.
One of the 12th-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Mimika, Samuel Katu, welcomed the outreach event warmly. “I am very interested, and this is something very beneficial for us high school students who will soon graduate. I am grateful to Somatua Training Center for conducting this outreach to us at SMAN 2 Mimika; now we also know about Somatua Training Center. Hopefully, Somatua Training Center will continue to hold similar activities at other high schools and vocational schools so that—”
The principal of SMA Negeri 2 Mimika, Martinus Wenda, also appreciated the outreach event. “I highly appreciate and thank Somatua Training Center for conducting this outreach at our school. This activity is very beneficial for our students, especially the 12th graders who will soon graduate from this school,” said Martinus.
It is hoped that through this outreach activity, the 12th-grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Mimika will become aware of opportunities to enhance their skills and job prospects after graduating from high school.
