Six trainees from Intan Jaya Regency, Papua, are currently learning boplang measurement techniques at Somatua Training Center in Timika on Monday (November 20, 2023). This training is part of a collaborative program between the Intan Jaya Regional Government and the Somatua Foundation.
This training is led by Abraham Marandof, a wood construction instructor at Somatua Training Center. The trainees are learning how to measure boplang, a measurement technique that uses a straight and flat board installed around the perimeter or corners of the land where a building is planned to be constructed.

Andreas Ugipa, one of the training students, expressed his deep gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the training. He said that he has learned a lot and is confident that he will be able to use the skills he has acquired to help develop his region in Intan Jaya once he returns to his hometown.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in this training. I have learned a lot and I am confident that I can use the skills I have acquired to help build my hometown,” said Andreas Ugipa.

“I am very impressed with the students’ progress. They are all enthusiastic about learning and working hard to improve their skills during this training, which has now been going on for one month,” said Abraham Marandof.
The training is scheduled to last for two months. During this period, the students will stay in the dormitory at Somatua Training Center. The Intan Jaya Regency Government and the Somatua Foundation hope that this training will help the students improve their skills in the field of construction.

The training became a valuable opportunity for the six students from Intan Jaya Regency. It will help them develop the skills they need to secure employment and improve their lives.(TimSTC)
