Timika, 25 September 2024 –

In an effort to improve human resource quality in the mining sector, Somatua Training Center (STC) has once again produced new graduates. Today, six students were declared graduates after completing a full one-month excavator operator training.

This intensive training provided students with both theoretical and practical knowledge of operating heavy equipment, as well as the importance of workplace safety. The training culminated in a festive graduation ceremony, marked by the students symbolically removing their personal protective equipment (PPE).

In his speech, Mr. Rofinus Daton emphasized the importance of workplace safety when operating heavy equipment. “Safety comes first,” he firmly stated. The same sentiment was expressed by Keylen, one of the graduates, who felt greatly helped by the learning methods applied at STC.

Mr. Yohanes, the instructor, expressed pride in the students’ achievements. “They are valuable assets to the construction industry,” he said. He hopes that the graduates will continue to hone their skills and become professional excavator operators.
