Timika, 20 Mei 2024 – Somatua Training Center once again conducted Safety K3 (Occupational Safety and Health) training for the 18th intake batch. On the fifth day of training, the focus was on workplace hazards and their impacts, as well as ways to manage fatigue that can lead to accidents.

After receiving orientation on Safety K3 and understanding workplace hazards, the students were guided to explore the potential impacts of those hazards. This is crucial to raise their awareness and encourage them to always prioritize safety in their work.

One of the interesting topics covered today was fatigue. The instructor explained factors that can cause fatigue, such as long working hours, heavy workloads, and non-ergonomic work environments. Fatigue can have fatal consequences because it reduces concentration, slows reflexes, and increases the risk of mistakes that may lead to workplace accidents.

Therefore, the students were equipped with knowledge and skills to manage fatigue. They were taught relaxation techniques such as stretching and deep breathing, as well as strategies for managing their time and workload. Additionally, they were reminded to maintain adequate food and fluid intake and to ensure proper rest.

With this comprehensive Safety K3 training, Somatua Training Center is committed to equipping its students with the knowledge and skills they need to work safely and productively.(STC)
