Written Exam Challenges Excavator Operator Training Students of Intake XV at Somatua Training Center

After conducting the Intake XV training since mid-January 2024, Somatua Training Center held a written exam for the training participants. Today, the written exam was specifically administered to participants of the excavator operator training program. There are 8 participants in this program out of a total of 13 participants. The other two training programs in Intake XV are safety K3 and welding. The welding program has 3 participants, while the safety program has 2 participants.

Six excavator operator training participants attended the written exam today (Thursday, February 22, 2024). Meanwhile, the other two participants were unable to attend and will take the written exam on the following day. The written exam is conducted to ensure the understanding and skills that participants have achieved after taking part in the one-month training program.

In its process, this training program combines indoor activities, which include theoretical lessons, with field practice that covers the majority of the training period. The theory classes are held in the classroom at Somatua Training Center, located on Jl. Cenderawasih SP 2, while the practical activities take place behind the Pemda Mimika housing area on Jl. Cenderawasih SP 2.

For the welding training participants, both theory and practice sessions are still ongoing, as the Intake XV welding program started later than the safety K3 and excavator operator training. Meanwhile, the safety K3 training completed its program the previous week. This is due to differences in the amount and complexity of material provided in each program, as well as adjustments related to other technical factors.

Today’s written exam marks the final part of the training process for the excavator operator participants. Afterward, they will receive certificates reflecting the achievements they have made throughout the training. Somatua Training Center has also started the first day of training for Intake XVI today.
