On Friday (December 23, 2022), Yayasan Somatua, founded by Maximus Tipagau, once again reached out to the community to celebrate Christmas 2022. During this event, Yayasan Somatua distributed basic food packages and Christmas gifts to various churches, orphanages, underprivileged families, and prisons in Timika.

Approximately 28 churches from various denominations, 2 orphanages, and Timika Prison received Christmas gifts as a form of sharing blessings in the life of Maximus Tipagau, the chairman of Yayasan Somatua. The spirit of giving during this Christmas celebration was carried out in accordance with the Christmas theme issued by the Indonesian Bishops’ Conference and the Indonesian Churches Fellowship: “They returned to their country by another route” (Matthew 2:12).

With the Christmas message that diversity is a gift from God to be grateful for, nurtured, and developed, Yayasan Somatua shared with various groups from different backgrounds. “Merry Christmas on December 25, 2022, and Happy New Year 2023.” May God’s love and blessings always be with us all. Amen.

The Somatua Foundation team was divided into two groups to spread Christmas cheer this year. Considering the large number of recipients and the wide area covered, the activities took place over two days.
