In her presentation, she introduced EDC and explained that the purpose of their visit to STC was to promote the program and gather data on training centers, which will be used as a basis for formulating work plans in Papua. EDC’s main focus for the program in Papua is vocational training aimed at enhancing local workforce capacity and aligning skills development with the needs of the community and industry. soft skill for both students and instructors in areas related to the green economy and modern technologies, such as electric vehicles, smart agriculture, solar panel installation, and more. This training aims to support sustainable development and is specifically targeted toward Indigenous Papuans. The presentation was delivered in English and translated by Nur Widagdo, the Senior Technical Advisor.
The EDC team expressed their appreciation for STC’s efforts in providing vocational training, particularly noting that the majority of its students are Indigenous Papuans who have successfully gained employment, even beyond the Papua region. Following the meeting in the instructors' room, the STC team accompanied the EDC representatives on a tour of the practical training rooms and facilities available for STC students. Should EDC's analysis later conclude that STC is a suitable partner for their program in Timika, they will reach out to initiate collaboration.
