STC Team Prepares Registration by Installing Billboards at Several Locations Around Timika"

Somatua Training Center (STC) was officially accredited on August 18, 2022, after undergoing a visitation process and plenary sessions of the assessment team at both the provincial level and the Ministry in Jakarta. The accreditation certificate for 14 training programs at STC was handed over in Jakarta through STC’s representative and advisor, Suriani Surbakti. Subsequently, the document was sent and arrived at the STC office on Jl. Cendrawasih KM 3.5, Timika, Papua, on September 12, 2022.

With the issuance of the certificate from the Accreditation Institute for Work Training Institutions, STC has once again intensified its promotion efforts for the upcoming training classes. One of the steps taken by the STC team to attract prospective students to join the training at STC as an accredited training institution is by installing billboards at several strategic locations around the city of Timika.

The STC team actively installed billboards around Timika city on Tuesday (20/09). There were five strategic locations where the team placed billboards to attract the attention of the local community in Timika. The first location was the Pasar Lama field on Jl. Yos Sudarso, one of the main roads and busy centers in Timika. Next, the team installed a billboard at the traffic lights near Timika Mall, at the intersection of Jl. Yos Sudarso and Jl. Hassanudin. The third spot was Check Point 28, near the old Mozes Kilangin airport gate. Another installation was on Jl. Cendrawasih, right in front of the traditional market at SP2, close to the roundabout and the road leading to RS Mitra Masyarakat, SP3, and Kuala Kencana. The last billboard was placed on the main road of SP5, near the Timika Futsal GOR, which was a venue for futsal during the PON XX event last year. 

The steps taken by the STC team represent a positive initial progress following accreditation. Timika, as a business city supporting the mining activities of PT Freeport Indonesia, requires competent technical workers who can prove their skills with official training certificates. Although there are many training institutions in Timika, the community can identify and choose credible training centers based on their accreditation status.
