The Department of Manpower and Transmigration (Disnakertrans) of Mimika Regency once again visited Somatua Training Center on Thursday (June 23, 2022). This visit followed the assessor visitation that took place from June 16 to 18, 2022, and the subsequent visit by staff from the Ministry of Manpower and the Papua Provincial Manpower Office on Tuesday (June 21, 2022). The presence of the Mimika Regency Disnaker staff was part of an official working visit to the Somatua Training Center as a vocational training institution.
The visiting delegation consisted of six people, led by Yemi Gobay, S.Sos., M.M., who serves as the Head of the Section for Development and Regulation of Vocational Training Institutions (LPK) at the Department of Manpower and Transmigration of Mimika Regency.
The specific purpose of this working visit was to closely observe the development of Somatua Training Center. The delegation inspected the classrooms or theory rooms as well as the practical training areas used at STC. In addition, they reviewed the readiness of the training modules, syllabi, and all work programs prepared by the STC management in their efforts to obtain accreditation.
The Disnakertrans team from Mimika Regency who visited STC on Thursday (June 23, 2022) expressed their hope that STC would continue to grow in the future, even expanding its programs further.
“The goal is to meet the growing demand for skilled labor from employers each year. This way, the number of workers absorbed in Mimika Regency will also increase, while simultaneously reducing the unemployment rate,” explained Yemi Gobay.
