The accreditation preparation for Somatua Training Center (STC), which is being actively pursued by the STC team with full support from the Director, has now reached the halfway point—particularly in the construction of several practice rooms and supporting facilities. Specifically, the facilities currently under construction include four practice rooms, a meeting room, a canteen, a prayer room (mushola), male and female restrooms, and a smoking room. In addition, the construction of a warehouse and staff barracks is also in progress. These new facilities will complement the three existing theory classrooms already available at STC.

The addition of practical classrooms currently under construction for several training programs will greatly support the implementation of future training sessions as well as the accreditation process for STC. In other words, this facility development is an integral part of STC’s ongoing accreditation preparation efforts. Moreover, the construction project involves STC refresher students, providing them with a practical training opportunity while specializing in the field of construction.

In any fieldwork, there is always a person in charge. In the context of the room expansion project at Somatua Training Center, Mr. Linus Tipagau has been given the authority to oversee the work. He is responsible for ensuring that all materials are always available and that the work process runs smoothly. Likewise, the refresher students working on the project carry out their tasks according to procedures and apply Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practices properly.

“For now, the construction work that has been carried out has reached the halfway point. The partitioning of the rooms, divided into three sections, is 50% complete. The practical training classrooms have reached 97% completion, and the male and female restrooms are at 50%. Meanwhile, the warehouse and staff barracks are also at 50%,” explained Mr. Linus. It is hoped that with the support from the leadership and the STC team, this construction process can be completed soon to support the accreditation of Somatua Training Center.
