Central Papua A number of students participated in a fire suppression simulation as part of their emergency response training curriculum. Fire Warden Held in the open field of Somatua Training Center, the activity aimed to enhance students’ understanding and basic skills in responding to fire emergency situations.

Guided by a team of certified instructors and coaches, the participants were equipped with theoretical knowledge about types of fires, the functions and proper techniques for using... Light Fire Extinguisher (LFE),before finally moving on to hands-on practice.

One by one, participants took turns handling the fire extinguisher and putting out a controlled fire at a designated location. The activity proceeded in an orderly manner and was filled with enthusiasm.

“This simulation is very important for building safety awareness, especially for the younger generation who will soon enter the workforce,” said one of the coaches after the practice session.

This training program is part of Somatua Training Center’s commitment to instilling a culture of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) and preparedness for emergency situations from an early stage. (STC)
