Excavator operator trainees from Somatua Training Center Intake XVI began practical classes operating excavators in the area behind the Pemda SP 2 housing complex in Timika on Thursday, February 20, 2024. The students were guided by instructors with extensive experience in operating heavy equipment.
This practical class is an essential part of the excavator operator training program at Somatua Training Center. Its purpose is to provide students with the opportunity to apply the theory they have learned in the classroom to real-world situations.
In this practical class, students are taught how to operate various functions of the excavator, such as the arm, bucket, and boom. They are also trained to apply safe and efficient digging and earth-moving techniques.
One of the instructors, Yohan, emphasized that this practical class is crucial to ensuring students acquire the necessary skills to become competent excavator operators.
