Regents from Central Papua Visit STC

Mimika, Wednesday (30/11/2022) — Somatua Training Center was visited by honored guests, the eight Regents of Central Papua Province. These Regents accompanied the Acting Governor of Central Papua during his visit to Somatua Training Center. The Regents present were Deiyai Regent Ateng Edowai, S.Pd.K., Dogiyai Regent Yakobus Dumumpa, S.IP., Intan Jaya Regent Natalis Tabuni, S.S., M.Si., Acting Regent of Mimika Johannes Rettob, S.Sos, M.M., Nabire Regent Mesak Magai, S.Sos, M.Si., Paniai Regent Meki Fritz Nawipa, Puncak Regent Williem Wandik, S.E., S.Mi., and Puncak Jaya Regent Yuni Wonda, S.Sos., S.IP., M.M.

The presence of all the regents was to show their appreciation for Somatua Training Center, which was inaugurated by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia on the same day. All the regents also pledged their full support for STC to become the official BLK (Balai Latihan Kerja) center in Central Papua Province. On this occasion, they also observed, greeted, and interacted with the training participants who were practicing in the welding class.

"I am grateful to all the Regents throughout Central Papua Province who have taken the time to visit Somatua Training Center in person. I sincerely hope that the Central Papua Regional Government will continue to support the education and training programs at STC. This support will enable STC to develop Papua’s young generation into competent local human resources, ready to face the challenges of an increasingly modern and advanced era ahead," said Maximus.

As information, Somatua Training Center was inaugurated by the Vice President of Indonesia, Ma’ruf Amin, who signed the commemorative plaque at Rimba Papua Hotel Timika on Wednesday (30/11/2022). The inauguration was broadcast virtually and witnessed by training participants and invited guests at the STC building on Jl. Cendrawasih KM 3.5, Timika. The Vice President took the opportunity to interact with the training students and conveyed the government’s support for STC. Somatua Training Center is the only vocational training institution inaugurated by the Vice President in Indonesia.
