Somatua Training Center, which began its training program for the 7th intake in early October, has been running smoothly through November. The training activities, divided into theoretical classes and practical sessions, have been successfully carried out for the trainees during this period. The 7th intake training program consists of two nationally accredited courses: welding technology and heavy equipment operation (excavator).
In the welding technology program, there are two trainees participating in the training. They have completed the classroom theory sessions and are currently in the practical phase, applying the knowledge they have acquired. Both participants are guided and supervised by competent instructors from Somatua Training Center.

“There are only two students in my training class, but that’s actually better. After what I have taught both in the classroom and in the field, I am confident they have understood a lot about welding techniques, even though they are currently at the 2G welding stage. So far, in practice, they are already able to weld horizontally. Today, I am distributing the exam guidelines,” said Ricki Yandeday, welding instructor at Somatua Training Center.
Meanwhile, one of the two trainees in the welding program shared their impressions of the training experience so far.
“I still don’t fully understand the welding practice. My hands still tremble a bit during the welding process, so I probably need to sharpen my welding skills and keep practicing to get used to it,” said Firman, one of the trainees in the welding program at Somatua Training Center.
