STC Students Work Diligently and Consistently Apply Occupational Health and Safety (K3)

The continuation of the Training Center construction project, located on Jl. Cendrawasih SP 2, behind the Mimika Regional Government Housing Complex, now involves refresher students from Somatua Training Center. The project is under the supervision of Mr. Adi and Mr. Jerry Welaf, who serve as Project Managers and are responsible for overseeing the activities at the work site. Despite the hot weather, the students remain highly motivated and work with enthusiasm, guided by site supervisors who are skilled at encouraging and boosting their work spirit—while consistently emphasizing the importance of Occupational Health and Safety (K3).

“I’m happy and always enthusiastic about this training. We are a team that has been divided into groups and assigned to work on the Training Center building project. We are a solid and united team, very consistent with time—during work hours, we all work; during break time, we all rest. That’s what makes me feel happy and comfortable,” said Domi Magai, a young training participant from the Moni tribe, on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 8:37 AM at the project site.

All training students are not only required to comply with and apply Occupational Health and Safety (K3) standards, but they are also given positive motivation and encouragement throughout the program.

“All of these training activities are important, and it ultimately comes down to us as individuals—especially in my role as a site supervisor and the person responsible for overseeing activities in the field—we must ensure the safety of the training students. If anything happens, I’m the one held accountable. That’s why I prioritize and implement Occupational Health and Safety (K3) in every job. Moreover, this is a fairly large and multi-story building project, so safety is absolutely essential. I also organize the work schedule, coffee breaks, lunch hours, and rest periods. Both I and the students remain consistent in following the schedule that has been set,” explained Mr. Jerry Welaf.
