On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, Somatua Training Center (STC) received a visit from the Department of Manpower and Transmigration of Mimika Regency. The visit was led by Mr. Yemi Gobai, S.Sos, MM, who serves as the Head of the Division for Training Institution Development and Structuring at the Department. He was accompanied by two staff members on this occasion. The small delegation arrived at Somatua Training Center at around 11:30 AM WIT and was warmly welcomed by STC’s Head of Operations, Mr. Feri Tipagau, along with the Head of Development Unit, Mrs. Ona Susana Msen, the Head of Quality Management Unit, Mrs. Berliana Mirino, and STC administrative staff.
On this occasion, the Head of the Division for Training Institution Development and Structuring at the Department of Manpower and Transmigration of Mimika Regency expressed his appreciation to the management and staff of STC for providing opportunities and offering various skills training programs to prospective job seekers. He and his team also conveyed a message encouraging STC to maintain its quality standards and continue submitting regular reports to the local government, specifically to the Department of Manpower and Transmigration.
In addition to holding a brief meeting with the management team in the STC office, the small delegation also reviewed the ongoing construction activities at the STC facilities and met with training participants who were directly involved in the project as part of their practical training. The Head of the Division for Training Institution Development and Structuring at the Department of Manpower and Transmigration of Mimika Regency, along with his two staff members, departed from STC at 12:30 PM WIT.
For your information, Somatua Training Center has conducted training programs for five intakes since 2020. The training offered includes mechanics, heavy equipment operation, occupational health and safety (OHS), welding techniques, construction, and more. STC places special emphasis on empowering Papuan youth and provides them with broad opportunities to participate in these programs.
