Advisor of Somatua Training Center, Suriani Surbakti, met with the Minister of Manpower after attending a seminar titled “Strengthening LPK and LSP in Preparing Competent Human Resources” held by the Ministry of Manpower at the Jakarta Convention Center on October 30. In their brief meeting, they discussed strategies for developing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the regions by leveraging local potentials.

They agreed that regional potential must be developed, especially through the MSME scheme, to provide economic value to local resources while opening up business opportunities on a small and medium scale for local entrepreneurs. One of Papua’s local potentials is the noken and Papua batik, which can be designed by combining traditional and modern touches to increase the economic value of the crafted products.
On the same occasion, Suriani Surbakti, advisor of Somatua Training Center, also presented a souvenir to Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah—a small bag made from batik fabric. The bag was a handcrafted creation made by the training participants.
