Timika, Papua Tengah \u2013 <\/strong><\/em>The heavy equipment training class for participants from Intan Jaya officially began today at the Somatua Training Center in Timika. A total of 10 participants joined the inaugural class, which focused on an introduction to excavators. This program is part of a broader effort to enhance the capacity of Papuan youth in vocational skills and the heavy equipment industry.<\/p>\n

The first session was led by Nabot Wandadaya, an experienced instructor in operating Excavators and Backhoe Loaders. During the opening session, Nabot provided an in-depth explanation of the excavator's components, its working principles, and basic inspection procedures before operation.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u201cBefore operating an excavator, the first thing to do is a thorough engine inspection \u2014 from oil and hydraulics to air filters, hoses, and connections. Everything must be in top condition because safety is the priority,\u201d said Nabot Wandadaya to the participants in the training room.<\/p>\n

The participants appeared enthusiastic as they followed the presentation, which included a Q&A session about real-world experiences in heavy equipment operation. The training is designed to provide a combination of theory and hands-on practice, which will continue in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

One of the participants, Yosias Kobogau, said that the training is a valuable opportunity for local youth. \u201cI\u2019ve never been this close to an excavator before. But through this class, I\u2019ve come to understand how important maintenance and safety are before starting the machine. It\u2019s truly eye-opening,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The program is expected to equip participants with practical technical skills applicable in both the workforce and entrepreneurship.
