The class took place in the Somatua Training Center classroom and focused on SMAW 1F, 2F, and 3F materials on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) is one of the most commonly used welding techniques. In this position, the electrode is tilted at an angle of approximately 70\u00b0\u201380\u00b0 to produce a strong and clean fillet weld<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"10:1-10:216\"><strong>SMAW 2F:<\/strong>\u00a0Fillet weld position on plate joints using the manual arc welding process. The electrode is tilted at an angle of approximately 45\u00b0 to produce a strong fillet weld in the horizontal position.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"11:1-12:0\"><strong>SMAW 3F:<\/strong>\u00a0Fillet weld position on plate joints using the manual arc welding process. In the vertical position, the electrode is tilted at an angle of approximately 10\u00b0\u201315\u00b0 to produce a stable and secure fillet weld.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"15:1-15:270\">Stenly Rahaded, the Operations Manager of Somatua Training Center and welding instructor, guided the students with clear explanations and practical demonstrations. He emphasized the importance of proper techniques and workplace safety during the welding process.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"19:1-19:275\">The class was interactive and full of enthusiasm. Students were encouraged to understand welding theory and techniques under the supervision of the instructor.
