The accreditation process for the Somatua Training Center went through a fairly long journey. Preparations for accreditation had been carried out by the Somatua Training Center since two years ago, in line with the operation of this vocational training institution, which carries the tagline \u201ca school for adults.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n
An accredited training institution must meet the standards set by the Accreditation Committee for Vocational Training Institutions (KALPK). In this case, a Vocational Training Institution is required to fulfill eight (8) quality standards to be eligible for accreditation. These eight quality standards include: Work Competency, Curriculum and Syllabus, Training Materials, Instructors and Training Staff, Training Facilities and Infrastructure, Governance, and Finance.<\/p>\n
To ensure that Somatua Training Center met these standards, an assessment team conducted a site visit from June 16 to 18, 2022. The assessors present during the visit were Mrs. Jumik Wiyono (Assessor and Chair of the Accreditation Committee for Vocational Training Institutions in Papua Province) and Mr. Roberto Sinto (Assessor and Member of the Accreditation Committee for Vocational Training Institutions in Papua Province).\n\nOver the course of three days, the assessment team reviewed documents, inspected facilities, and provided technical guidance on managing a vocational training institution to all staff at Somatua Training Center. The assessors also offered suggestions for improvements and adjustments to meet the eight required standards.\n\nThe visit concluded with a closing session in which the assessors presented their recommendations and findings. Based on the site visit, document verification, and field assessments, Somatua Training Center was declared to have passed. The next stage was to await the results of the plenary session in Papua Province and the Ministry of Manpower in Jakarta for the issuance of the official decree.<\/p>\n
After going through the plenary stages at the provincial level and at the Ministry in Jakarta, Somatua Training Center was officially declared accredited on August 18, 2022. This means that Somatua Training Center successfully fulfilled the eight quality standards set by the Accreditation Committee for Vocational Training Institutions (KALPK).\n\nThe national accreditation certificate was later handed over to Somatua Training Center, represented by Mrs. Suriani Surbakti, who served as the advisor and coordinator of the STC accreditation preparation team. She was accompanied by Mrs. Jumik Wiyono, who acted as both assessor and Chair of the Accreditation Committee for Vocational Training Institutions in Papua Province.\n\nThe certificate handover ceremony took place at Merlynn Park Hotel, Jakarta, on September 9, 2022.<\/p>\n
With the issuance of the national accreditation certificate for 14 study programs at Somatua Training Center, it is hoped that this training institution will further realize its vision: \u201cTo develop professional human resources who are globally competitive and environmentally conscious.\u201d<\/p>\n
